  • #Together Community Event

Tue 29 Jan 2019 Mrs Dummer

Saturday saw the school open for an extraordinary event which we hope will be the first of many!

At Athelney we have always focused on improving the outcomes for our families but this weekend was a public highlight; we joined forces with The Metropolitan Police who brought their dogs, horses, targeted support group (riot police) and safer neighbourhoods team. We were also joined by community groups and our local churches, parent support groups, local leisure providers, YouthFirst (our youth club providers), childcare providers such as Giggles, the Local Bellingham Assembly and many more wonderful services that can enrich and/or support our children's future opportunities.

Approximately 400 people passed through our gates and the feedback was hugely positive. We hope to see even more at our next event in the summer.

  • Arethusa Mid-week update

Wed 16 Jan 2019 Mrs Dummer

Wow! The adventurers have continued to excel at all activities since the last update. Tuesday saw them scale to new heights with the help of a harness and sheer determination on the climbing wall.

The children have continued to eat, play, work and sleep incredibly well. Today they ventured along the shore for a long walk through the Kent countryside followed by problem solving design technology activities.

  • Arethusa Day Two

Tue 15 Jan 2019 Ms McMahon

We have started today with a variety of team building games. All adventurers worked really well together and were able to complete all tasks.

After that my group had a kayak session in the pool, some of the videos that we will share on our return show just how fantastic they have been so far. We are very proud of them all!

  • Arethusa Fun- Day One

Mon 14 Jan 2019 Mrs Dummer
The photos have been coming thick and fast today... after a quick check of the rooms and a delicious lunch, all of the Atethusa Adventurers went out in to the Kent countryside for a rather muddy woodland walk followed by a session in the swimming pool before dinner. Everyone is having a great time! Please keep checking for regular updates and reasons to smile throughout the week!
