At the King Alfred Federation we want to encourage our pupils to be successful and as well prepared for their school day as possible. Research has shown pupils who start their school day with breakfast have:

• Improved cognitive function, particularly memory and attention.
• Improved academic performance, including school grades and achievement test scores.
• Increased on-task behaviour in the class

We offer a breakfast club facility that allows our pupils from Reception to Year 6 to have both a healthy breakfast and the chance to engage in play and activities before starting their school day.

What we offer at Athelney Primary School

• The opportunity to start their day with a selection of healthy breakfast such as: croissants, pancakes, hash browns, beans and much much more.

• A welcoming breakfast club provision that runs from 7:45 until 8:45.
• Value for money with our session costing £3.00 per day.
• A chance for pupils to socialise with friends and peers before their school day, we actively encourage interactive games and sports before school.
• The knowledge that children are well looked after in our staff led breakfast club facility.
• Flexible child care - spaces can be booked from 1 to 5 days a week. 
• Childcare vouchers can be used towards payment of the facility (for further information please see the school office)
