At Athelney Primary School, we have a vibrant nursery that offers part-time provision for 2-year-olds (15 hours per week) and for 3- to 4-year-olds, either 15 or 30 hours per week

We offer a broad, play-based Early Years curriculum designed to provide children with diverse learning opportunities. Our activities include painting, cooking, role play, construction, gardening and more, all aimed at fostering curiosity, confidence, independence and resilience.

We strongly believe in the benefits of outdoor learning, which supports healthy and active lifestyles. By engaging with the natural world, children experience unique opportunities, such as understanding the weather and seasons, respecting nature and developing problem-solving skills. Outdoor play also enhances creativity and physical capabilities.

For our eligible 30 hour full-timers, we also offer the opportunity for an extended free day from 8:45am to 3:30pm, five days a week, as well as the ability to incorporate swimming lessons into the curriculum with our indoor, on-site swimming pool, led by our very own experienced swimming teacher. We provide this opportunity to learn an essential life skill as part of our commitment to a well-rounded curriculum.
