Reading: Your child will take home a new levelled reading book every Tuesday. Please read with your child daily and comment in their 'I am a reader' book. If your child has any difficulties with their reading please let us know so we can support them in school. Please sign and date when you have read together. Please ensure their reading folder is in their bag every day as the same book is worked on both in school and at home. Your child may also wish to take home an unlevelled book to share with you for pleasure. These can be changed anytime.
The Little Wandle site has a useful Parent section with tips on how to support your child with reading: Click this link.
Spellings: Your child will take home a new spelling pattern every Monday. This will be the same spelling pattern that we are learning in school that week. Please support your child with learning their spellings. These can also be practised on 'edshed' website. If you have misplaced toyr child's login, please let me know.
Chinese new year. We all enjoyed noodles and used chopsticks.
Pyjama party.
Thursday 16th January. The children all had a lovely time eating pizza, watching a movie and dancing. It was a treat to show my appreciation for their hard work and good behaviour.
Scaring away hunger.
Science investigation.
The children all made a paper boat then covered them in a material of their choice. They proved that tinfoil, clingfilm and wax crayon were waterproof.
English The Robot and the Bluebird.
The children took on the role of the robot or the bluebird during a drama session to show facial expressions.
Science investigation.
We tested if a paper marble run was strong enough to run marbles down. The children created their own marble runs using only paper and tape.
