We are really excited to welcome your child to their first year at primary school!

We understand that every child is unique and has had difference experiences e.g. attended nursery ( full or part time), childminders or others may have not attended a setting at all. Therefore, we believe in a staggered start process, for your child to try and settle into their new class happily. 

We will work closely with parents to ensure that their transition is positive, supportive and smooth. 

What we do at Athelney?

• Each child will be given a specific start date in September 
• They will come into school 8.45am-1pm ( lunch included) for a minimum of one week
• If we feel your child is ready, happy and secure, we will let you know when your child is ready for full time. 
• Please be patient with your child settling in as sometimes this transition can take longer as it can be a very overwhelming experience for them.
