Literacy - Task 1 In this lesson, we will start off looking at parentheses: brackets, dashes and commas and their function within a sentence. Then the children will explore the features of a biography: layout, punctuation, purpose, language, sentence structure, etc. Finally they will identify the features of a modelled text.

Literacy - Task 2 In this lesson, we will practise using parentheses in the three forms (brackets, dashes and commas). Then we will explore why we use colons in writing and its uses. Each use will be looked at in more detail and then children will get to put their knowledge of the different uses into practice.

Grammar: explore word classes. In this lesson, we will explore word class. We will focus on identifying nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs in sentences. We then explore what prepositions are and identify these in sentences.

Reading Task - Year 3 and Year 6

Topic - Benin - WALT: understand Benin's place in British history. Read the Benin and British History presentation. Use the Easy, Medium or Hard template and timeline to match the events of British and Benin History to the year. There is extra reading for help.

Computing: become familiar with the terms ‘fair use’ and ‘copyright’. Copyright or CopyWRONG? During this lesson students will become familiar with the terms ‘fair use’ and ‘copyright’. They will gain an understanding of why they should only use copyright-free images and will find appropriate images to use in their work from suggested sources.
