Come and have a healthy start to your day!

At the King Alfred Federation, we want to encourage our pupils to be successful and as well-prepared for their school day as possible.

We offer a breakfast club facility that allows our pupils from Reception to Year 6 to have both a healthy breakfast and the chance to engage in play and activities before starting their school day.

What we offer at Athelney Primary School

• The opportunity to start their day with a selection of healthy breakfast options such as: toast, bagels, butter, jam and cheese; Cornflakes, Shreddies, Rice Krispies and Weetabix; apples, oranges and bananas; squash, milk and water.
• A welcoming breakfast club provision that runs from 7:30 / 7:45 until 8:45.
• Value for money with our session costing £4.00 / £3.00 per day.
• A chance for pupils to socialise with friends and peers before their school day — we actively encourage interactive games and sports before school.
• The knowledge that children are well looked after in our staff-led breakfast club facility.
• Flexible childcare - spaces can be booked from 1 to 5 days a week.
• Childcare vouchers can be used towards payment of the facility (please speak to the school office for further information).

Places must be booked in advance to ensure we have adequate staffing and can maintain a safe environment for all children. We are unable to accept children into Breakfast Club who have not been pre-registered.

You can book for as little as one day a week, or every day. Once a place is booked, it must be paid for - whether your child attends or not - as the space is reserved and cannot be offered to another child.

Payment must be made in advance.

Ad Hoc Bookings Available

We understand that families need flexibility. That’s why we also offer Ad Hoc Bookings:
•     £6.00 for a 7:30am drop-off
•     £5.00 for a 7:45am drop-off

Please confirm availability with the school office before making an ad hoc booking.

We are signed up to the Tax-Free Childcare vouchers! 

Athelney Primary School is signed up to the Tax-Free Childcare for working families (including self-employed workers).  Apply here and we will be able to accept the 20% towards your Breakfast Club bill. 

After signing up, kindly inform the school office if you intend to use these to make payment for Breakfast Club.
