The trip includes a safari through Africa, giving the children the opportunity to be really close up to giraffes, rhinos, zebras and many more amazing animals.

Home learning.

Reading: Your child will take home a levelled reading book every Monday. Please read with your child daily and comment on the sheet if your child was stuck on a word or sound, so we can support them in school with any difficulties they may have. Please return their reading folder every day as the same book is worked on both in school and at home. Your child may also wish to take home an unlevelled book to share with you for pleasure. These can be changed anytime.

Spellings: Your child will take home a list of spellings every Monday. Please support your child with learning these spellings in preparation for a test every Friday. You should now have your child's spelling shed login where they can practise their spellings even further.

Maths: Your child will take home a maths sheet every Friday. The work will be based on what your child has been learning that week. Please return this sheet by the following Wednesday.

CLIC Maths.

Your child can practise some CLIC questions in the following packs. There is no need to print them, just copy the questions onto paper.

Neuro Diversity week.

We were lucky to have two inspiring neuro divergent visitors this week. Sam Holness a triathlon champion and Dave a street artist.

World book week.

We had a lot of fun during Book week. We wore crazy hats to welcome our visitor Banji Alexander. We told another visitor, Michelle Junaid, what we would like to be when we grow up. Both these authors inspired our children. We all dressed up and read our favourite books, We went to WHSmiths to buy a new book. We spent some time in our new little library. Look at the photos below to see all the fun.

Science. The children all made a paper boat. Then they covered it in a material of their choice to make it waterproof. They chose clingfilm, tinfoil or wax crayons.

Fire brigade. The children were so excited when the fire-fighters turned on the hose and screeched out the siren. They all had the chance to sit inside the cabin. Fun was had by all.

Science investigation. Creating a paper bridge that is strong enough to hold a toy car. All children thoroughly enjoyed this investigation. They worked collaboratively in groups. Four bridges were strong enough.

Letters to Santa. Lots of the children wrote a letter to Santa, a few of them posted them to the North Pole. We eagerly await a response.

Children in need - Expressive hair day.

Science museum. Fun was had by all and the behaviour was impeccable:)

Scary children 31st October 2023

Science. 25th September. We went on a material hunt today and found many natural and man-made materials.

Drama. 19th September. A drama teacher came today and encouraged us all to express ourselves.

Science. 18th September. We all enjoyed investigating the properties of a variety of materials.
